Oraan is Pakistan's female-led fintech startup with a mission to make savings simple, easy and habitual for everyone. About the role

The Head of Verification at Oraan is responsible for independent verification of  all users, including assessing clients' financial status, evaluating their creditworthiness and risks; for all Oraan products - including our flagship product called Oraan Committees as well as new products that Oraan introduces over time.

Responsibilities: 

• Taking complete ownership of the underwriting policies - including running experiments that enable updation of policies in accordance with market realities, company growth goals and portfolio health 

• Ensuring all underwriting contracts are administered and recorded accurately and within the desired turn around times. 

• Reviewing and settling complex applications in accordance with the policies and policy exception SOPs. 

• Managing projects, developing and implementing new procedures for the verification and application processing to drive forward continuous process improvements. 

• Designing and producing useful, accurate data points.

• Driving credit risk model development and working closely with other relevant domains, especially risk, to help develop and drive the non-technical work on Oraan's credit risk model. Coordinating with technical teams to ensure timely delivery of objectives. 

Required Qualifications: 

• BA/BS/Masters degree in business, finance, accounting, management, IT/Computer Science, project management or other related field.

• At least 4-5 years of experience in a relevant/related role.

• Has worked within the financial sector before. 

• Strong problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with customers, partners and internal stakeholders in a clear and concise manner

• Ability to spot patterns from discrete and vague data points
